Project Overview
Nikki Novo, a Cuban-American best-selling author, spiritual teacher, and intuitive healer known for guiding individuals to clarity and purpose, initially engaged with me as a spiritual dating coach. At that time, she sought a contemporary design for her first book,The Final Swipe. In partnership with the Self Publishing Agency, my task was to encapsulate Nikki’s insights on modern dating within a visually appealing cover and interior layout, all under a crunching deadline of just over a month.
The Solution
Embracing the challenge, I designed a cover and interior that mirrored the book’s fresh perspective on dating. The process was a sprint, with Nikki swiftly moving through each phase from writing to editing, and finally, design approval. The design needed to be engaging and resonate with readers navigating the complexities of modern dating.
Continued Collaboration
In late 2022, Nikki approached me again to work on her second book, Soul-Led Living. Although I didn’t create the front cover artwork, I prepared it for print, designed the back cover, and laid out the interior. This follow-up project was handled with the same efficiency and seamless collaboration as the first, culminating almost magically smooth, affirming our successful partnership.
Impact
The Final Swipe not only met its ambitious timeline but also debuted at the #1 spot on Amazon’s Dating category bestseller list, a testament to the synergy between compelling content and striking design. The continued trust and smooth cooperation on Soul-Led Living further solidified my role in supporting Nikki’s evolving career as an author and spiritual guide.
